Hardfacing : An Overview
Hardfacing is the process of depositing a wear resistant alloy material on metal part by form a protective surface which resists abrasion, heat, corrosion, cavitation and other types of wear. There are three types of welding used with rods and electrodes - oxy-acetylene (O-A), gas tungsten arc (GTA), and shielded metal arc (SMA).Gas metal arc (GMA) welding is used for wires while plasma transferred arc (PTA) is used for powder consumables.
